Paintings by R.A.Lahm
SOLD
"Niagara",
16X24 Oil ($1200)
After a visit to Niagara Falls,
I was inspired to paint the falls looking towards the viewing
point of Frederick Edwin Church's painting of the same name, while
showing a bit of the Canadian Horshoe Falls.
SOLD
"Knee Wall",
13x19 Egg Tempera ($1200)
Inspired by my grandmother's bedroom, painted
from memory and the patch work quilt she made when I was a child,
this is among my personal favorites. It is currently framed in
a natural, hand made barn board frame matching the color of the
hope-chest in the painting, matted with museum board and under
glass.

"Chair Madonna",
24"x28" Oil on Linen ($1000)
Many artists have been moved by Raphael's
"Chair Madonna" (actually depicting Mary, the Christ
child, and St. John). The inspiration for this painting comes
from a small print of this classic found in my home as a child.
Framed in a gold frame, this oil on linen has the finish and appearance
of a museum painting.

"Jelly Case",
12"x15" Egg Tempera ($850)
This painting depicts a view in my present
home after a particularly successful year of growing pumpkins.
Set on an old jellycase, this terrific pie pumpkin awaits its
fate in the our country kitchen. Note the long trails of vine
hanging from the stem. This helps to keep a pumpkin fresh longer.
Old timers would store their winter squash under the beds in unheated
bedrooms of the house to keep them longer. I thought you should
know that. Framed in an antique oak frame with silver inlay and
is mounted under glass.

"Doe-Doe",
18"x24" Acrylic ($1000)
Two old friends brave the winter together.
This painting is currently unframed, but looks very nice with
a museum board mat, gold frame and under glass.

"Catskill Mountain
House from Sunset Rock", 22"x38" Oil on Canvas
($450)
Painted from "Sunset Rock", a scenic
viewing site at the North Lake Preserve in upstate New York. This
historic location was a haven for the Hudson River School painters
and inspires many artists, myself included, to paint the magnificent
Catskill Mountain views. This painting is framed in a natural,
hand-made barnboard frame and would look equally as nice in a
traditional gold leaf period frame.

"Posted",

raiser print for "The Center for Wildlife Awareness and Rehabilitation,

care and release of distressed wildlife. All proceeds from the
sale of this painting will go to The Center for Wildlife Awareness.

"Cock-a-Too, dle-do!"
18"X24" Acrylic on board ($1000)
This is a fun painting for anyone who owns
a Cockatoo. Part of the "Parrots Americana" series,
this painting depicts the meeting of a Barred Hen with a rather
curious barn visitor. This unique painting is now unframed, but
would look nice with a museum board mat and narrow gold frame.

"Cunningham's Farm"
18"X24" Oil on panel ($350)
This view, off Cunningham Road in the town
of Durham, inspires the artist to show the breathtaking "valley
views" offered through out the Northern Catskill Mountains.
Currently framed in natural oak, it would look nice in a traditional
"Hudson River School" gold leafed frame.

"Barlow's Bridge"
16"X20" Oil on canvas ($400)
This old metal, single lane trestle type bridge
was once found all over the Northern Catskill Region, usually
crossing the many creeks and rivers in this area. This was one
of the last remaining ones and was painted the summer before its
removal. Framed in a heavy walnut frame with gold accents, this
painting would be enjoyed by any sport fisherman.
